on october 14, opera america had its first master class of the year as part of our making connections series. it was supposed to be led by soprano dawn upshaw who unfortunately fell ill and couldn't make it. at the very last minute, lauren flanigan literally saved the day when after a long day of rehearsal for new york city opera's production of esther, lauren came to our office and led a master class that was AMAZING. she spent at least 45 minutes which each of the wonderful singers (jonathan g. michie, elizabeth pojanowski, jorell williams, and andrea arias-martin) and it was fascinating to watch her teach them.

we are so very grateful to lauren for being such a great friend to opera america.
