modern/nostalgia

i mentioned this awhile ago, but i've been working hard with my friends nikki and bri to come up with a branding campaign for their new women's vintage clothing store in buffalo (read this great article about them here). now that the store is open, i'm excited to share with you what i came up with!  when nikki and bri approached me with their ideas, i knew this was going to be a very cool and fun project.  their store was going to have vintage clothing and accessories, but with a modern flair. so the first thing i did was design their logo (above). i thought the font choices captured what they were going for...mixing the new with the old.  they both really liked my collage work, so i thought that would be a perfect jumping off point to make the different print pieces they would need for their business.  i came up with several different collages that mixed vintage wallpapers with modern elements like rusty pipes and pink feathers.  here's what i came up with:
