hi friends! many apologies for the lack of posts recently, but i've been a crazy person with a lot going on. did i mention that i moved? that's right. i am officially no longer a resident of brooklyn! i've taken up residence in a renovated barn next door to a horse farm in a tiny town upstate. while many think it's crazy, it's not totally crazy...i've kept my job and will still be in nyc for about a week each month which will be a much better balance for me. balance is something that i've been seeking in my life for a long time and while i LOVED my new york city life, i just couldn't go on at that pace anymore. so i decided to do a 180 and move to a little town outside of cooperstown. it's so beautiful and quiet and peaceful here and i'm only an hour from my family which is so great. because of work craziness, i haven't been able to get out and take pictures of my new environs yet, but i will! in the meantime, please enjoy the photo of my new neighbors above - this is the view outside of the window my desk faces. horses all day every day...it truly gets no better.
i hope you are all having an excellent and relaxing summer so far!

Missing you. And Vern.
Sounds so lovely! I know how you feel too. I was getting pretty worn through with city life in D.C. and moving to the country has been such a blessing. Somedays I do feel a bit too isolated but most of the time I just fall deeper in love with my surroundings. The country has a way of seeping in and now I can't seem to imagine any other lifestyle...anyways, I am looking forward to keeping up with your country life on your blog and am so impressed with your photography. Seriously, gorgeous.
so THIS is why people actually comment on other blogs - for the compliments! seriously, thank you for your kind words, they mean a lot to me. and i can't tell you how lucky i feel to have found someone else in a similar situation, it's very easy to feel like i'm alone in this new adventure. my evil cat vern, while a lovely roommate, doesn't have much to say about the subject. :)
we have something else in common - i lived in d.c. before nyc (if you want to get technical, i actually lived in alexandria, but worked in d.c.). what a great town, i absolutely loved my time there.
i look forward to the mutual blog stalking!!!!! i've given some thought as to what makes yours so awesome and so i'm heading back over there to wallpaper yours in compliments. here's to new cyberfriends!!!
