songer singwriter @ music hall of williamsburg - 1.23.10

songer singwriter is the name of the supergroup that was formed at the mhow haiti benefit. it included justin vernon (bon iver), annie clark (st. vincent) and brad cook (megafaun). awesomeness ensued. they covered neil young's harvest moon, dolly parton's jolene, tom petty and the heartbreaker's face in the crowd and annie lennox's why. just awesome.

justin vernon (of bon iver) @ music hall of williamsburg - 1.23.10

i am also a huge bon iver fan. and a volcano choir fan. really, i'm a justin vernon fan. i first saw bon iver play in july 2008 in the same venue and he was just as terrific.  this time, not only did he back up nearly every other musician on the bill, but he played some beautiful songs solo, too.
